This breed of fumi does not occur naturally, they are exclusively lab-grown and made-to-order. They can feed on anything small and edible, but must be regularly fed a milk-like, aether infused substance whose recipe is kept under lock and key by those same people who distribute them. Although they are otherwise fairly easy to keep, as long as care is taken not to injure their tiny bodies, the cost to create and feed them is high enough that they are considered to be pets for the wealthy.
They are very tiny compared to other breeds (see size chart), averaging at a size that fits well in the palm of one's hand. They also have a unique, bunny-like posture due to their large heads, hind legs, and chubby bodies. An owner should treat them as carefully as they might treat a child, since they don't have much in the way of self-defense: small teeth and low bite pressure; retractable yet soft/rubbery claws on their back feet and none to speak of on the front (although they do have thumbs); vapor that doesn't become too unbearably noxious when upset like a normal fumi's would; and a total lack of tail to 'drop' and distract predators with. They even have trouble regulating their own aether, which does give their vapor and skin a glittery effect, but also makes it difficult for them to maintain their own body temperature (specifically, keeping warm). To combat this, owners adorn their gummis with outfits to keep them comfy, even making a hobby out of dressing them in doll-like, handmade clothing!
Gummis still share a few traits with their fumi relatives, including the smooth, hairless skin; forked tongues; and the same horn, pupil, tusk, ear, and vapor sack variations. Some fumis, oftentimes nurses, regard gummi fumis highly and treat them with the same care and affection as puggles. It's more likely that other fumis will find the same peeps and glittery vapor that us humans adore to be highly annoying though, they probably 'speak' too loudly and act too child-like. It is very uncommon that another fumi would resort to violence though, and rarer still that one would prefer to hunt them down and devour them, but such cases do exist.
Gummis also don't have sexual organs to reproduce with, and don't seem to age in any visible way. This does not mean they are immortal, however, and they require more and more of the aether-milk substance to sustain them as they grow older, metabolism dropping gradually. Eventually there will come a point where even if the gummi is feeding constantly via IV, it won't be able to take the milk in quickly enough to sustain itself any longer, and it closes it's eyes and passes away.
